Stanford Materials Corporation (SMC) is a trusted supplier of ultra-high purity Gadolinium Oxalate and a wide range of high purity rare earth chemicals.
Description: Gadolinium Oxalate, also known as Gadolinium (III) oxalate hydrate, is a rare earth compound of Gadolinium. It is insoluble in water and strong mineral acids. Gadolinium is a rare earth element with a high magnetic moment. Due to its magnetic moment, Gadolinium is able to enhance signal intensity by reducing relaxation times. It is also used for semiconductor fabrication and nuclear reactor shielding. When combined with EDTA ligands, Gadolinium can be used as an injectable contrast agent for MRIs.
Applications:
Used in the extraction of Gadolinium, especially from xenotime, due to its insolubility.
Used as a common raw material for the preparation of Gadolinium oxide, especially the preparation of photoluminescent phosphor and cathode ray-luminescent phosphor.
