Cerium Metal Description
Cerium is a grey lustrous metal that is malleable, and one of the most reactive of the rare-earth metals. Cerium metal is oxidizing in the air forming a superficial oxide coating and reacting rapidly with water, readily dissolved in mineral acids and will react with most nonmetals on heating. Cerium metal is obtained through thermal reduction techniques and produces highly pure versions of the element.
Stanford Materials Corporation (SMC) supplies cerium metal of different purities, we also have other cerium products like Cerium Oxide, Cerium Oxide Polishing Powder, Cerium Carbonate, and so on.

Cerium Metal Applications
Commercial applications of cerium metal include catalysts, additives to fuel to reduce emissions, and additives to glass and enamels to change their color. Cerium metal is used as an additive for special steel, non-ferric alloy, hydrogen storage alloy, and also a reducer for making other rare earth metals. Cerium alloys are used in permanent magnets and in tungsten electrodes for gas tungsten arc welding.
Cerium Metal Packaging
SMC's cerium metal is clearly tagged and labeled externally to ensure efficient identification and quality control. Great care is taken to avoid any damage which might be caused during storage or transportation.
