Scandium Chloride is applied in optical coating, catalyst, electronic ceramics, and laser industry, which are also excellent precursors for the production of ultra-high purity compounds, catalysts, and nanoscale materials. The main application of Scandium by weight is in Scandium-Aluminium alloys for minor aerospace industry components. Dentists use Erbium, Chromium: Yttrium-Scandium-Gallium Garnet (Er,Cr:YSGG) lasers for cavity preparation and in endodontics.
